چکیده

Using the operator product expansion (OPE) technique, we study the rare double radiative decay B → Kγγ in the Standard Model (SM) and beyond. We estimate the short-distance (SD) contribution to the decay amplitude in a region of the phase space which is around the point where all decay products have energy ∼ mb/3 in the rest frame of the B-meson. At lowest order in 1/mb, the B → Kγγ matrix element is then expressed in terms of the usual B → K form factors known from semileptonic rare decays. The integrated SD branching ratio in the SM in the OPE region turns out to be ∆B(B → Kγγ)OPE SM ≃ 1×10−9. We work out the di-photon invariant mass distribution with and without the resonant background through B → K{ηc,χc0}→ Kγγ . In the SM, the resonance contribution is dominant in the region of phase space where the OPE is valid. On the other hand, the present experimental upper limit on Bs → τ+τ− decays, leaves considerable room for New Physics (NP) in the one-particle-irreducible contribution to B → Kγγ decays. In this case, we find that the SD B → Kγγ branching ratio can be enhanced by one order of magnitude with respect to its SM value and the SD contribution can lie outside of the resonance peaks.

We discuss a model-independent framework for the analysis of the radiative B-meson decays B → K * γ and B → ργ based on the heavy-quark limit of QCD. We present a factorization formula for the treatment of B → V γ matrix elements involving charm (or up-quark) loops, which contribute at leading power in ΛQCD/mB to the decay amplitude. Annihilation topologies are power suppressed, but still calcu...

The factorization properties of the radiative decays B → V γ are analyzed at leading order in 1/mb using the soft-collinear effective theory. It is shown that the decay amplitudes can be expressed in terms of a B → V form factor evaluated at q2 = 0, light-cone distribution amplitudes of the B and V mesons, and calculable hard-scattering kernels. The renormalization-group equations in the effect...

We re-investigate the radiative charged kaon decay K → πeνeγ [K ± e3γ ] in chiral perturbation theory, merging the chiral expansion with Low’s theorem. We thoroughly analyze the precision of the predicted branching ratio relative to the non-radiative decay channel. Structure dependent terms and their impact on differential decay distributions are investigated in detail, and the possibility to s...

In supersymmetry with large tan β the decays B 0 (¯ B 0) → l + l − are dominated by the scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs penguin diagrams leading to strong enhancement of leptonic decay rates with potentially large CP asymmetries in the τ + τ − decay modes measurable in BELLE or BABAR experiments. The TAUOLA τ-lepton decay library supplemented by its universal interface can efficiently be used to ...
